  • 1 cup shredded cheese

  • Pour the 1.5 cup of water evenly over the tortellini mixture. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes, or until the tortellini is tender and the chicken is heated through.
  • Carefully remove the foil and stir until the melted Boursin coats the tortellini, vegetables and chicken.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes, or until melted. Serve warm.

Tips for a Creamy Tortellini Bake

Keep the dish tightly covered. Trapping steam helps the tortellini cook evenly.

Check the pasta before adding the cheese. Package sizes and tortellini varieties can affect cooking time. If the pasta is still firm, cover and continue baking. If the mixture looks dry, add a small splash of water.

Stir thoroughly. Mixing the softened Boursin with the cooking liquid creates the creamy sauce.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to boil the tortellini first?

No! Refrigerated tortellini goes into the baking dish uncooked and cooks with the added water while covered.

Do I need to thaw the vegetables?

No. Add the frozen mixed vegetables directly to the dish.

Can I use another cooked chicken?

Yes! Shredded leftover cooked chicken works well in place of rotisserie chicken.

Can I make this without Trader Joe’s ingredients?

Absolutely. Use refrigerated cheese tortellini, frozen mixed vegetables, garlic and herb Boursin, cooked chicken and shredded cheese from your preferred grocery store.
