Today on Good Food Friday we celebrated fall with some of favorite foods made healthier and some kitchen and meal staples!
Pizza – made healthy!
Everyone loves pizza and YES it can be healthy when done right. What I do is use a cauliflower pizza crust – don’t knock it til you try it! CAULIPOWER crust tastes just like your traditional crust – BUT it’s lower in calories and carbohydrates, plus it’s made with a vegetable so you’re getting fiber and vitamin C. I shared their new frozen PALEO Cauliflower Pizza crust – which is grain and gluten free. You can find it on Amazon.
Ice Cream – made healthy!
Just like pizza, everyone loves ice cream so I brought the Halo Top ice creams which are low in calories, high in protein and taste just like the real deal. One pint has around 300 calories with 20 grams of protein so you can satisfy your sweet tooth, guilt-free. They have 24 flavors including Peanut Butter Cup, Birthday Cake and Pumpkin Pie for fall! You can find them in most major grocery stores nationwide.
The superfood to incorporate this fall
Hemp hearts are a nutrient powerhouse and THE superfood to incorporate this fall. I shared hemp heart by Evo Hemp – they have twice the protein of chia and flax seeds, good omega-3 fats. You can add them to your oatmeal, yogurt, even salads for some added staying power. Their fruit and nut Hemp Bars are naturally sweetened with fruit and will keep you energized on the go. You can find their products at Whole foods and evohemp.com
Healthy kitchen staple for homemade fall meals
Finally fall is a great season to get back in the kitchen – research shows that meals prepared at home are typically healthier and more affordable than eating out. The Bevy Luxe 7-Piece Silicone Kitchen Utensil set is a healthy staple for your fall meals and retails for just under $25 on Amazon. It’s hypoallergenic, dishwasher safe, stain and heat resistant.
