Summertime calls for FROZEN desserts. Today, I share three frozen desserts with benefits on The List TV. Visit thelisttv.com to find where to watch near you.
Sourpatch grapes
First up we have frozen sour patch grapes! Start with frozen grapes – they are in season now through January. Grapes are about 80% water so they are hydrating, plus, research suggests that consuming grapes daily may help protect against UV-induced damage to skin – so they are perfect for summer. Next squeeze lime juice, toss to coat and this part is optional but you can roll it in a zero calorie granulated sweetener like monk fruit. It’s still going to be lower in sugar than your traditional sourpatch candy.
Frozen yogurt smoothie tubes
Next up we have frozen yogurt smoothie tubes. Start with your favorite smoothie – my tip for making a satisfying smoothie is to load up on veggies first – spinach and riced cauliflower are mild in taste, fruit will mask any bitterness from the veggies, for protein, Greek yogurt is a great option, then your liquid of choice. Blend until smooth, add to your smoothie tubes and freeze until set. Cool snack that you can feel good about eating.
Banana dipped in chocolate with pecans
Finally I have a 3-ingredient chocolate pecan banana pops! Start by adding banana halves to popsicle sticks. Dip each into dark melted chocolate followed by chopped pecans, which add nutrient-dense crunch. In each 1 oz. serving of pecans, you get 3g of plant-based protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and good fats.Place your pops on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 4 hours.
