Backyard BBQ season is officially underway! I will be serving up mini sliders and fries with VEGETABLE-sweetened ketchup and BBQ sauce by True Made Foods on my porch. With mint juleps of course!
It’s not summer with hamburgers, hotdogs and fries.
In typical Nutrition By Mia fashion, we are “healthifying” the spread with simple swaps that preserve flavor and skyrocket nutrients.
Everything is better mini and these sliders are no exception.
Made with your standard burger ingredients and our favorite warm-weather spices and seasonings to give it more flavor.
I am serving these with ketchup, barbecue sauce and Sriracha – but not your standard kinds.
I have partnered with True Made Foods to bring you a veggilicious backyard barbecue. Their condiments are sweetened with VEGETABLES. Think carrots, butternut squash and spinach (yes, spinach). This results in 50% less sugar than leading brands. Each bottle contains over a serving of vegetables thus replacing the majority of sugar with nutrient-rich ingredients.
What I also love about these condiments is that they were developed by a father of four who wanted more nutritious, low-sugar condiments that his kids could enjoy.
So YES, these are KID-APPROVED.
Besides mini sliders, you need fries. Sweet potato is always my french fry of choice because not only do they taste better (in my opinion) they boast higher levels of nutrition think fiber, beta-carotene and potassium.
