CBS WTOC-TV: Healthy Holiday Entertaining

December 10, 2019

Zen Basil, Fresh Cravings Plantbased Dips, Pure Farmland, CELSIUS
Serve a produce Christmas Tree

This is a fun way to serve produce during holidays! Start with a Styrofoam tree, use toothpicks to secure your favorite fruits and veggies and pair them with delicious dips. I shared the sweet and savory organic plant based dips by Fresh Cravings. They’re vegan, gluten free, free of preservatives and made with nut-based protein. You can find the organic at Publix and conventional at Walmart chilled in the produce section.

Serve a breakfast slider bar

Next I shared a a build your breakfast slider bar for when you are hosting guests from out of town. This recipe comes together in minutes! I used the Maple Breakfast Sausage Patties by Pure Farmland, which are part of their new collection of plant based protein products available at Kroger and Publix. All eight of their products are made with complete soy protein, coconut oil and natural flavors. Plus they are gluten and dairy free.

Whip up a dessert with benefits

Next I shared a a dessert with benefits – raspberry basil seed jam thumbprint cookies. To make the jam, cook raspberries on the stovetop and stir in your basil seeds, which I like to call the new chia seeds. They have nearly two times the fiber, calcium, potassium and iron plus loads of antioxidants. Zen Basil is the only USDA certified organic brand of basil seeds in the US, you can find them on Amazon and zenbasil.com.

Stay energized during one of the busiest times of the year

As we know hosting can be tiresome so I brought a better for your energy drink for the busy hostess. CELSIUS has zero sugar or artificial ingredients like aspartame or high fructose corn syrup, it’s infused with 7 essential vitamins and it was designed to provide sustained energy without the crash or jitters.
