The first day of summer is next week! Today on CBS WTOC, I shared healthy snack and meal ideas that you can enjoy all season long.
Cheese Kabobs
This is what I call a snack with staying power – you get high quality protein from the cheese and fiber from the fruits and veggies! I shared my Gouda, Mild Cheddar, Colby Jack and Pepper Jack kabobs. I used the Borden Cheese Snack Bars which are easy to cut up and great for on the go snacking. Each bar is 80 calories with 5 grams of protein and a good source of calcium.
Summer parfaits and trail mix
I shared seasonal yogurt parfaits and a homemade trail mix you can eat at the beach made with coconola by Grandy Oats which is a grain-free granola made with a coconut chip base, nuts, seeds and sweetened with honey and maple syrup. The chocolate chunk is my favorite they also have a coffee crunch, original and hemp seed varieties. These only have 4 grams of sugar per serving which is great for a granola!

The perfect summer grilling meal
Finally, I shared the perfect summer meal – grilled chicken tenders and zucchini with a special sauce that I developed in partnership with Unilever as one of their 2018 Agents of Change. I used the NEW Hellmann’s® Ketchup, which is sweetened with honey instead of high fructose corn syrup and made with only six real, simple ingredients. I also used Unilever’s Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise and My Classic Dijon Mustard to make this sauce really pop with flavor.
