Summer is just a few days away! Today I shared nutritious beach and pool snacks for the whole family.
Granola bars and granola bites
I partnered with Quaker to share the versatility and goodness of 100% whole grain oats. One half cup serving is naturally low in fat and sodium AND is good source of fiber and essential vitamins and minerals that our body needs. Because oats are a nutritious blank canvas, there is so much you can do with them for summer – bars, bites, granola you name it!
A snack that is good for your gut, heart and bones
California Prunes! For less than 100 calories, one serving of 4-5 prunes has no added sugar, cholesterol, sodium or fat BUT HAS 3 grams of fiber, potassium and vitamin K. Research shows that eating just 5-6 prunes per day may help support healthy bones according to a clinical trial that suggested prevention of bone loss and preservation of bone structure in postmenopausal women.
The perfect summer beverage
Premier Protein Clear is an on-the-go, protein-infused flavored water packed with 20g of protein, 90 calories and 0g of sugar so you stay hydrated and satiated. It comes in Tropical Punch, Orange Mango and Raspberry. You can find these at most major retailers and some great recipe inspiration at PremierProtein.com.
Better-for-you potato chip swap
Sea Salt Crunchy Chickpeas are my go-to potato chip and crouton swap because they are higher in protein and filling fiber. I shared the ones by Saffron Road which you can find locally at The Fresh Market and Publix. Add them to salad jars, trail mixes or enjoy on their own.
Something for the babies
I even shared an option for babies! Teetherpop a brand new line of fillable, freezable teethers designed to hold water, purees, or your baby’s favorite drink. Simply add to the reservoir, let that freeze for 1-2 hours, remove the cap to enjoy. They’re made from US-sourced, FDA-approved, medical grade materials and you can find them at teetherpop.com.
