CBS Savannah: Simple Healthy Swaps that Make a Big Difference

Meyenberg Goat Milk, Swerve Sweetener, Simply Organic
Many of us have already given up on our healthy new year resolutions so I shared tips on CBS Savannah to help us get back on track with simple swaps that make a big difference.

Tip 1: Cut back on empty calories

My first tip is to cut back on empty calories like sugar– which are foods that give us energy but little to no nutrition. Swerve is a zero calorie sugar replacement made with a blend or erythritol, prebiotic fibers and citrus. It measures cup for cup just like sugar but has no impact on blood sugar – so you won’t experience those spikes and dips in energy. It’s also grain and gluten free, and non-GMO.

Tip 2: Get creative with spices in 2019

My next tip is to get creative with spices in 2019 – it’s a great way to bring flavor to meals for virtually zero calories. Turmeric is the hottest spice right now – these are the Turmeric Twists by Simply Organic. They comes in three blends – the daily, savory and sweet. I also shared the Simply Organic guacamole mix – to demonstrate just how creative you can get with spices.

Tip 3: Replace almond milk with real milk

My next tip that many of my clients are surprised to hear is to replace your nut milks with real dairy. The truth is, real DAIRY is far nutritionally superior and less processed. Goat milk is real dairy – it’s smooth, creamy and many people find that it’s easier to digest than cow’s milk. One cup of the Meyenberg Goat Milk has 8 grams of protein and a slew of nutrients including potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Tip 4: Read the ingredient label of everything you put in your mouth

From your foods and beverages to your toothpastes! I like Arm & Hammer Toothpaste because it is naturally powered by baking soda, which helps gently clean away stains and helps neutralize harmful plaque acids that form continuously in the mouth after eating and drinking.
