I’m on CBS Las Vegas NOW with tips to host a healthier Friendsgiving!
First, we have a Fall Harvest Salad with a pistachio vinaigrette dressing. I love working with the Wonderful Company because Wonderful Pistachios are one of the highest protein snack nuts with 6 grams of complete plant protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving. In-shell pistachios are also great for snacking on and may help “fool yourself full”. The leftover shells can be a visual cue for portions, potentially helping to curb intake which we call the “Pistachio Principle”.
Next, put a nutritious and creative twist on traditional cranberry sauce with Grapes from California. Fresh California grapes are bursting with sweetness and balance the tartness of cranberries, enhancing both flavor and texture. Plus, grapes may help support a healthy immune system which is especially important this time of the year.Studies suggest that resveratrol and certain flavonoids found in grapes may positively influence immune function.
Next we have a nutritious take on mashed potatoes – these are made with cauliflower and hummus. Hummus is an easy way to add creaminess, flavor and plant protein. I use Fresh Cravings because it’s made with a short list of high quality ingredients like chickpeas, savory tahini and Chilean extra virgin olive oil. I used the classic flavor, but its also great with the roasted garlic.
This Autumn Pomegranate Fizz is the perfect Friendsgiving beverage. I use POM Wonderful 100-percent pomegranate juice because it’s packed with antioxidants. The juice is whole-pressed to release the polyphenols to optimize its potential antioxidant benefits. Every 16-oz bottle has the juice of four whole-pressed pomegranates and nothing else – no fillers or added sugar.
