Today on Good Day Sacramento, I shared easy recipes and meal ideas that take 20 minutes or less.
5-minute salad dressing
First I shared a 5-minute salad and dressing made with the Cobram Estate extra virgin olive oil. This oil is certified by the California Olive Oil Council, which assures that it is extra virgin grade, grown in California and from the most recent harvest. It’s made with a variety of olives so it’s complex in flavor and high in antioxidants. The recipe is 3 parts EVOO, 1 part vinegar and seasonings of choice.
Hummus crostini
Next we have holiday crostini made with hummus, which adds plant protein and fiber. I used the Lantana alternative bean hummus, which comes in a bunch of fun, mild to spicy flavors – you can’t miss them at Safeway or Sprouts because of the colorful striped lids.
Bacon-wrapped veggie bundles
Next we have veggie bundles wrapped in Farmer John Bacon. This is ready 20 minutes! The Farmer John products are holiday entertaining staples, easy to prepare, flavorful. You can find the bacon, sausage, ham and more at Safeway and Raley’s. Get the full recipe here.
5-minute mashed potatoes
The Idahoan mashed potatoes are is ready in 5 minutes. They’re made 100% real Idaho potatoes from local growers that are washed, peeled, boiled and mashed like you would at home. After each batch is cooked from scratch, they’re simply fresh-dried so they’re ready for you to prepare at home.
Prep-free option for little ones
Finally we have a prep-free option for little ones. The whole milk yogurts by Brainiac Kids were developed to support kid’s brain development and include critical nutrients that most kids don’t get enough of like omega-3 fats and choline. You can find these kid-approved flavors at Whole Foods and Raley’s and Target next month.
