Happy tailgate season! Today I share easy and nutritious meals and snacks that you can make and serve at your next tailgate or homegate on ABC Tampa.
Start off with a party platter
Start with vegetables like mini bell peppers, carrots, and celery, then add fruit like grapes, crackers, assorted cheeses , nuts and nutritious dips like Fresh Cravings salsa and hummus. Fresh Cravings hummus is so creamy and delicious and comes in a range of flavors including everything bagel, honey jalapeño and roasted red pepper. It’s made with a short list of high quality ingredients including chickpeas, tahini and Chilean extra virgin olive oil – you can find it in the deli section at Walmart. Salsa is another nutritious dip option that is low in calories and high in flavor. Fresh Cravings Salsa is refrigerated instead of jarred and made with vine ripened tomatoes, crisp vegetables and zesty peppers that are never cooked or pasteurized – find it chilled in the produce section at Walmart.
Another finger-food for your tailgate or home gate is grain-free taco cups
I make mine with Maria and Ricardo’s Almond Flour KETO Tortillas – which are keto-certified, free from grains, gluten, soy and artificial ingredients and have only 4 Net Carbs per tortilla. They come in three flavors – Sea Salt, Flax & Seeds and Everything Seasoning, –and are Available at Sprouts stores throughout Florida in the frozen aisle. To make theses taco cups, place the tortillas in small oven safe bowls. Bake them in a muffin pan for 15-20 minutes at 350 F and fill with ground beef cooked with taco seasoning and your toppings of choice.
