Happy Anniversary to Avocado Toast! Today on Good Food Friday, I share ways to enjoy this creamy versatile fruit,
Its no surprise why people have been starting their day with avocado toast. Avocados are nutrient-dense which means they are high in nutrition and low on empty calories so they can help support weight management goals.
This creamy, delicious and versatile fruit pairs seamlessly with eggs, smoked salmon and tomatoes – ingredients that made the top 15 list of favored toast toppings for avocado fans according to a recent survey of nearly 2,200 adults conducted by Love One Today.
Fresh avocados contain unsaturated fat and so act as a nutrient booster to increase the body’s absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, K, and E.
Avocados also boost satisfaction. You should know fiber-containing foods like avocados and whole grain bread, help provide a feeling of fullness but with fewer calories.
Let’s get started on building my favorite way to dine on avocado toast.
Dark-colored avocados are typically read-to-eat and will yield to firm gentle pressure in the palm of your hand. Wash it and then place it on a secure surface and slice slowly down the center lengthwise around the seed, twist and rotate the two halves apart. Remove the seed with a spoon, cut the halves into wedges and pull the skin away from the inner green flesh. Mash the avocado in a bowl, spread on your toast and top with your favorite topping!
Avocado toast is more than an ultimate breakfast solution. The nutritional benefit from avocados by themselves is great but together with fresh ingredients on toast…. Its next level!
