It’s Good Food Friday and I’m on ABC Charleston’s Lowcountry Live with summer wellness tips and recipes!
Make breakfast easy and delicious
Red’s just expanded their premium breakfast sandwich lineup to include their Ciabatta sandwiches, English muffin sandwiches and my favorite, the Chicken Maple Sausage Egg’Wiches which are made with two cage-free egg patties instead of traditional bread bun – you can find them at Harris Teeter. These are such a delicious and convenient breakfast option you can cook in the microwave or air fryer…packed with 14-17 grams of protein and made with high quality ingredients like artisan bread, fluffy cage free eggs and antibiotic-free sausage.
For lunch we have pistachio salad jars.
Start with my pistachio salad dressing at the bottom which is made with olive oil, lime juice, basil and garlic. Pistachios are one of the few plant-based sources of compete protein with 6 grams per serving. They also contain healthy fat and are a good source of fiber. Next, add your protein, veggies, grains, and leafy greens.. pour it out onto a plate when you are ready to enjoy. I love using pistachios in recipes because a recent study out of Cornell University found that pistachios are very high in antioxidants and that the levels of antioxidants in pistachios rival that of other popular foods commonly thought of as high in antioxidants – including pomegranates, blueberries and red wine.
Next, we have a great summer snack you can take to the beach and pool.
These are the Kate’s Real Food snack bars – all made with less than 10 ingredients and sweetened with better-for-you sweeteners like true source certified honey and dried fruit. They come in a range of delicious flavors, are USDA organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, soy-free, and kosher. You can find them online at KatesRealFood.com and get 25% off using code HEALTHYSNACKING.
