Today I shared some great tips and recipes to kick off the first day of summer!
Veggies
Every healthy summer soiree needs a colorful salad. I make mine with rainbow chard, kale and strawberries all by Foxy Produce also known as the Nunes Company. They are a family owned and operated year round sustainable supplier or both organic and conventional veggies and strawberries. You can find 40 different conventional produce options and over 35 organic options locally at Publix, Food Lion and BI-Lo.
Taco bar
Next up, I shared a a taco bar with ingredients made with Cocavo, which is a blend of extra virgin coconut and avocado oil. If you love the sweet flavor of coconut oil β this is a better for you alternative because itβs lower in saturated fat and higher in those good plant-based fats. You can find it nationwide at Walmart and Walmart.com in three varieties β natural, cilantro lime and ginger and turmeric and lemon zest.
Burger and Fries
Burgers and fries are another summer soiree essential. I recommend serving them with condiments by True Made Foods, which is a veteran owned company that uses veggies to sweeten their products instead of high fructose corn syrup. Their BBQ sauce has 70% less sugar than standard sauces and their new no added sugar ketchup tastes amazing. They are also vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, paleo-friendly – you can find them on Amazon.
Dessert with benefits
Finally I shared desserts with benefits β beetroot brownies and cacao nib cookies made with superfoods – which are foods with a high level of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants relative to the calories they contain. I used superfoods by BareOrganics who is all about real nutrition for real people and helping you feel energized and meet your daily nutrition needs. Their products are USDA certified organic, non-gmo and can easily be added to smoothies or baked goods.
