CBS Your Carolina Quick Healthy Breakfast
Registered Dietitian and on-air nutrition expert, Mia Syn, MS, RD shares quick and healthy breakfast ideas for busy mornings on CBS WSPA-TV, Your Carolina.

All you need are a few minutes in the morning to make a delicious and healthy breakfast. Today on CBS WSPA-TV, I shared some ideas that will satisfy everyone’s preference, and most importantly will save on time.

The ultimate grab and go breakfast

Kefir cups are ultimate grab-and-go breakfast option. They are thick and creamy like Greek Yogurt but have nearly twice as many probiotics, which are those beneficial bacteria that support our digestion and immune system. They are also an excellent source of protein and calcium.

How to eat your veggies in the morning

Many of us may be hesitant to start our day with veggies. However, adding a handful to your go to breakfast of choice like smoothies or eggs is an easy way to get in a serving without changing the taste by much.

If you don’t have an appetite, have something mild and satiating

Pair nut butter with whole grains for an easy, mild breakfast option. This combination of fiber, protein and healthy fat will help carry you until lunchtime.

An easy, healthy alternative to grits

Instead of oatmeal or grits, try quinoa! Quinoa is a whole grain so it’s high in fiber and also has quite a bit of protein, which both keep us full and can help with weight management.
