It’s officially Valentine’s week which means you’ll be seeing a lot of red and pink around here in the next coming days. What’s a girl to do when the day of love falls on a Sunday… plan a red and pink themed brunch of course!
Today it’s all about the drinks. When it comes the Valentine’s holiday, you can’t go wrong with a little bubbly as long as you integrate a little red or pink for a festive touch. Pomegranate, blood orange or passionfruit which should be readily available this time of year and happen to boast that coveted color of the holiday. Today I am all about the frozen cherries in this cherry vanilla smoothie.
Nutrition:
Cherries: These ruby gems are packed with fiber, potassium, and vitamin C. They also happen to be one of the few natural sources of melatonin and may improve sleep quality and duration.
Greek Yogurt: Consuming dairy products provides health benefits, especially when it comes to our bones and teeth. Yogurt is rich in calcium which is needed for maintaining bone mass. Dairy intake is linked to improved bone health which may reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Additionally, a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes as well as a lower blood pressure are associated with diary intake.
