Turkey chili is an easy way to meet your vegetable quota and help keep you satiated and warm this holiday season. All you need is some ground turkey and fresh sage to complement ingredients you may already have on hand.

Turkey: Turkey is a great source of high biological value protein meaning it contains all essential amino acids that our body needs. It is also particularly rich in B vitamins, like niacin which plays an essential role in energy metabolism and maintaining a healthy nervous system.
Sage: This elegant herb adds more than just seasonal flavor. It boasts nutrients like vitamin B6 and vitamin K in trace amounts as well.
- 1/2 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 zucchini, chopped
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp chopped sage leaves
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp salt
- Fresh sage to garnish
- In a large pot, sauté your onion, garlic and zucchini with olive oil on medium heat.
- Add your ground turkey meat and sauté ingredients together.
- Add your tomato sauce, sage, paprika and salt.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for about 15 minutes.
- Serve and garnish with fresh sage for a festive touch.
