2018 resolution: eat more CHOCOLATE!
Yes… as a dietitian, I am giving you the green light!
Chocolate often gets a bad rap for its fat and sugar content but the truth is that chocolate is loaded with antioxidants which come from the cacao used.
Raw cacao is one of the most potent sources of antioxidants which are those compounds that fight free radical damage in the body and support brain, heart and skin health.
FLAVANOLS are the compound that gives chocolate that redeeming health factor. No two chocolate bars will have identical cacao content and can differ by a factor of 10! That’s why I love the FlavaBars because they are specifically made with the GOOD STUFF.
Start your day the chocolately way with superfood chocolate oatmeal.
This is made with the FlavaMixes from FlavaNaturals which is a unsweetened drinking chocolate powder that you can add to smoothies, coffee, yogurt and milk. Yes please to starting the day with a punch of antioxidants!
FlavaNaturals is hosting a 10 day challenge to promote consumption of those beneficial flavanols and see if you notice a difference. They are also offering $20 off your first order of 2 or more items using code MIA2018! Expires on Feb 15.
If you make this or join into the 10 day challenge, be sure to share with me on Insta! Be sure to tune into Good Food Friday this week on ABC WCIV Lowcountry Live for more foods to kick off the year on a healthy note.
