I am a huge fan of brunch on the weekends… who isn’t? Sundays are my favorite days to slow down, enjoy my morning at church, and then meet up with friends and family for a delicious satisfying meal.
Brunch of course is all about the menu: homemade yogurt parfaits, make-your-own omelet station with a variety of chopped veggies and a juice bar- with lots of refreshing options!
To recreate this spread I recommend maximizing summer produce at your local farmers market. Not only is eating in season good for the environment, it is associated with enhanced flavor and nutrition coupled with affordability.
Create stations for each of the items you plan to serve.
Here I wanted to create a drink station with water, coffee, tea and lots of juices. To maximize on adding pops of color to the spread, I opted for a greens-based juice, one with orange and carrot as well as the most refreshing summer fruit of them all- watermelon of course. Stay tuned later this week as I break down the juice bar and share these refreshing combos.
If you are lucky enough to have an outdoor kitchen, move the omelet station outside. I like to make cards listing out all the omelet ingredients for everyone to check off and personalize to their liking. Breaking down the omelet station will be featured later this week.
Finally I wanted to include a make-your-own yogurt parfait bar for those opting for a little sweetness in the morning (myself included). Thankfully, berries are at their peak in the summer months. Don’t forget to include topping like nuts for some healthy fats and superfoods like cacao nibs for added crunch and antioxidants.
Here are my essentials for hosting a successful brunch, links are included below.
- Colorful egg cartons to put your eggs on display at the omelet bar.
- Copper pitchers for a stylish touch. I would use these for cold water with some lemon wedges thrown in
- Country milk bottles for guests to enjoy their fresh juice.
- A menu board to get guests excited about the spread when they arrive.
- Clear pitchers to serve your juices in over at the juice bar.
- Matching coffee cups and saucers.
- A stainless steel pot for serving hot tea or coffee.
- A stainless steel frying pan for all the omelet making activities.
