Incorporating Botanicals into your Everyday life

September 23, 2019

Wildcrafter Botanicals

It’s no secret that I am a whole foods advocate in my dietetic practice. Using real food to achieve and maintain optimal health is my objective as a dietitian. I love discovering new ways to support health through food and that’s why I am excited to explore botanicals in partnership with Wildcrafter Botanicals.

Wildcrafter produces botanically infused coffees crafted by Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, M.D. who has explored natural medicine and its role in modern health care for more than 35 years. Wildcrafter is the only botanical consumer products company that makes botanically infused coffees and sells direct to consumer in the U.S. for K-cup coffee users that want to elevate their health and experiences naturally in an era of constant daily stressors. They test every batch of herbs for heavy metals and 300 pesticides/herbicides. Plus, their coffee is 100% organic!

What botanicals can do:

Decades of research have demonstrated the healing power of natural herbs. Wildcrafter is made with clinically proven botanicals that are globally sourced infused into organic, fair trade Columbian coffee.

They use botanicals like rhodiola root, lion’s mane mushroom, maca root, reishi mushroom, elderberry fruit and ashwagandha root in their four k-cup varieties: Energy, Focus, Calm and Defend.

Ashwagandha root is used as an adaptogen, an herb that helps support the body during life’s dairy stressors. It is considered one of the most calming botanicals so you can find it in their “Calm” k-cup.

Rhodiola root has a long history of being used to increase physical and mental stamina along with helping to provide immune support. You can find it in their “Energy” k-cup.

What I like about the Wildcrafter products is that they use the whole plants so that you don’t miss out on any of the health benefits.

How to enjoy them:

One fun fact that I like to share on TV and with my clients is that coffee is the number one source of antioxidants in the American diet (yes, not kale!). Science recommends up to three cups of coffee per day to reap its maximum health benefits but of course listen to your body if you are sensitive to caffeine. Wildcrafter makes caffeinated and non-caffeinated varieties. If you like the taste of coffee, you can enjoy the decaffeinated “Calm” k-cup in the evening before bed without worrying about staying up all night and the caffeinated “Energy” k-cup in the morning to jumpstart your day.
