Try this 3-ingredient magic shell smoothie bowl next time you are craving something sweet!
Magic shells are so nostalgic. Ice cream bowls were simply incomplete without them.
Make this “grown-up” version made with just three nutrient-dense ingredients – cacao powder, coconut oil and maple syrup.
I like using cacao over cocoa since it is less processed and higher in antioxidants. Coconut oil is the only oil that will work in this recipe since it hardens all cool temperatures and will create the shell. While I prefer maple syrup in this recipe, honey will also work.
The best part is that you can use it to cover any smoothie bowl. Even green smoothie pack with spinach!
To stick with the dessert theme, I made a three ingredient PB banana smoothie made with frozen banana, peanut butter and unsweetened Planet Oat Milk. The key to a thick smoothie bowl is to use just enough liquid to get it smooth.
