Where did the time go? I’m not ready for my favorite season to be over just yet! Whether you are picnicking at the park or driving cross-country, we all need foodie staples to get by. Consider this your official planning guide!
Make sure they are sliced! Preparation is key when it comes to getting your veggies in. When they are pre-sliced we are more likely to grab them when we are running out the door and getting kids to do so, as well. Serve your veggies with packable dips like hummus and guacamole.
Think yogurt, cheese sticks, jerky and tuna. Protein is key for keeping hunger at bay when you are on the road. These are typically my go-to sources that are easy to pack and always on hand.
Fruit is the unofficial on-the-go fuel of summer. Choose water-rich fruits in the warmer months to help keep hydrated. Both watermelon and cantaloupe are over 90% water! Aim for those that are available at your local farmer’s market. These are typically an indicator of what is in season. Seasonal produce not only tastes better, but is more nutritious and affordable.
Everyone loves a crunchy road trip snack you can pass around. Pair your guacamoles and hummus with Lundberg Family Farm’s new Grounded Snacks Red Rice & Quinoa Chips. These are made with whole grains so they pack fiber and B vitamins. They are also organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, corn-free and allergen-free. Find them in five different flavors ranging from spicy, savory to sweet! I especially love these snacks because they are produced by a four generation family-operated and owned company based in my home state of California. They use sustainable growing practices to harvest their whole grains used in their chips, risottos, rice cakes and more. You can find these chips and more of their whole grain product here.
I’ve so excited to partner with Lundberg Family Farms to give away a five-pack variety of their new chips along with other essentials for your summer travels & adventures. Head on over to my Instagram to enter! The winner will receive:
